Day 2

Look, my favorite season is more of a favorite ERA. I love the Zordon era to a ridiculous degree, but frankly, that’s because I have a giant crush on Adam Park and he is my favorite forever and always, and I go ridiculously flaily when he’s onscreen, okay? Deal.

But favorite era doesn’t really answer this question, and honestly, 90% of my answers for this will probably involve my love of Adam and MMPR in some way, so I’m going to use two other seasons to answer this question.

Favorite #1 – Time Force.

So, yeah. Time Force. Time Force has everything I love. Jen is a Pink Ranger, but she’s the leader of the Power Rangers. She is also awesome and wonderful and looks good in leather. (I am shallow, okay?) Her relationship with Wes is one of the best done ships on all of Power Rangers. And Wes is everything I love, and one of my favorite Red Rangers, and I usually HATE Red Rangers. He’s a rich boy with daddy issues! And his relationship with sixth Ranger Eric is um, filled with subtext. I love them.

One of the criticisms of Time Force is that the other Rangers don’t get a lot to do, but I still adore Katie and Trip, and even Lucas has some great episodes (his relationship with Nadira, for real) and we get some of the best villains this season (Oh, Nadira. And Ransik! Although my love for Ransik may just be my love of Vernon Wells.)

The season is crazy compelling and one of the best acted seasons of PR, and how can you not like movie madness? Basically, this season = A++++

Season #2 – RPM

RPM got me back into Power Rangers. Well, Once a Ranger really did, but RPM was what made me decide that I should watch some seasons that didn’t have Adam in it. I mean, this season is post-apocalyptic. This is POWER RANGERS. That shit doesn’t happen! But RPM went there, killing 99% of Earth’s population in the first episode. And this is another cast where I love everyone. Scott is another awesome Red, and Summer is on my list of favorite yellows. Flynn is frankly my favorite ever (he just wants to be a superhero, you guys. I love him) and Dillon and Ziggy are frankly boyfriends. Gem and Gemma are crazy and Dr. K is great. While I have some trouble with how the series ultimately progressed, I love RPM to a ridiculous degree. And I’m usually the one complaining about how I hate grim and gritty. But that was the thing about RPM – even when it went grim and gritty it still remembered to have humor. And our heroes were still likable characters, so, you know, A++++.
